Expressive Arts
We have been learning about different artists. This week we looked at pictures by an American artist called Georgia O’Keefe. She liked to paint pictures of flowers using hot and cold colours. The children in Room 28 drew their own flowers and then used watercolours to blend and shade the petals in their pictures. During our discussion the children recalled previous learning when they began talking about the primary colours – red, yellow and blue. This enabled them to choose appropriate colours to blend together creating beautiful works of art.
