Primary 1 Ri enjoy going out for scheduled outdoor learning sessions, but today was ‘Outdoor Classroom Day’ so we thought we’d add an extra trip out to our week. It’s always great to get out in the fresh air and with the weather turning cooler, the trees are changing and we can have lots of fun exploring the environment around us.
Today we were doing some measuring. We drew round a friend and then used rainbow sticks or lollipop stick to measure how long we were. After that we played speed writing, trying to write a given number and return to our magic spot before the time was up. We finished of with playing our new favourite game of ‘What’s the Time Mr Wolf”.
Earlier in the week, we were doing lots of Autumn craft activities. We read a story about a hedgehog who made a leaf nest so we collected some leaves and made one for him. We also made some spooky faces for pumpkins. We did some fantastic line drawings of some unusual gourds.
