Primary 1Ri went out to explore the local area. They were looking for different buildings and other interesting features. The children were good at spotting lots of things including letter carvings on the pavement stones, old doorways, road signs and street names. They even noticed that the house numbers were counting up in two’s. Through observations, they were also able to identify some changes in buildings over time. We tried knocking on Rapunzel’s tower (Powis Gate) but she wasn’t home. We decided that we needed to find out more about the different statues around Bishop Elphinstone’s memorial. We will definitely be going out again soon to look for more things.
