Health and Wellbeing in Room 28

Since returning to school our topic has been all about ‘The Colour Monster’ by Anna Llenas. The monster in the story feels all muddled up and a girl helps him to explore his feelings. So far we have learned about being muddled, happy and sad. This week we are learning all about being angry and strategies to help when you feel this way.

Here we are making Feelings jars with Lesley. We can use these to calm us down if we are feeling angry. When we are sad looking at the glitter and beautiful colours can make us feel happy šŸ™‚

Here we are painting our colour monsters. We had to really concentrate on giving them different expressions relating to how they were feeling and positioned their bodies (using pins) to show how body language can show us how someone feels.

Here we are having a dance on Friday to Samba music. We played a game where one of us started to dance and then pointed for another member of the class to join. We looked at our facial expressions and we noticed that they changed to a very happy, smiley face when we were having fun dancing and when we were chosen.

As you can see we have really been enjoying learning about our feelings in different ways!
