‘We are learning all about our Rights at Sunnybank!
The United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC) was developed in 1989 and is the first legally binding international instrument to incorporate the full range of human rights for children. There are 54 articles altogether! Wow!
It is a recognition by world leaders that children have human rights and people under 18 years old often need special care and protection that adults do not. It is a child’s Right to know their Rights!
Soon our Senior children will be sharing their knowledge about Children’s Rights with our Infant department through video presentations. We will also be learning about the Right to an Education and Play in our classes this term. Look out for more exciting information soon about UNCRC and our commitment to children’s rights at Sunnybank.’
